How was the transition from working full-time to going back to school and taking classes?

Is anyone on the panel pursuing a dual degree dual degree program?

How did you all feel these experiences helped in applying and getting into school? Do these things give you confidence as an applicant?

My question is about the very un-fun topic of debt - as non-traditional students, how did you weigh the decision to take on that burden? Especially if earlier degrees have led you to incur debt in the past. Thank you all so much for sharing your paths to vet school!

How much animal/vet experience and variety of experiences did you feel comfortable applying to school with?

Can you tell us about the challenge to plan clinicals around children/family? Thank you so much in advance!!

Is there a chance to enter the dual degree program while you are in vet school?

Does the dual degree with the Phd run the same way?

How did you decide which of your experiences were appropriate to include on your application? After being out of undergrad for several years did you decide to include fewer experiences from that time? Did you include many non-animal related experiences like working at Trader Joes?

That’s true, I worked 4 jobs at one point which definitely impacted my GPA! I made sure to put them all in

For me, the pandemic really caused a problem with continuing to gain experience (I have a lot from years ago but not so much from recently because I was in graduate school doing research). I had been preparing a bunch of opportunities to get experience in wildlife rehab/vet med in January-March 2020, and just as I got them going, Covid cancelled all of it. I have still been struggling to get anyone to allow me in to their facilities since then. There may be opportunities starting now, but my application is due Sept 15. Should I explain this in my application, and maybe mention the opportunities I’m trying to get going?
