Now that GREs aren't required, what is the updated % weight when evaluating applications? Also is it only for this upcoming cycle or are GREs not required indefinitely?
Rebecca Russo
33:40
The GRE has been eliminated as an admissions requirement indefinitely. The admissions committee continuously reviews its process, but I don't see it changing for the forseeable future.

Question for Bill: Can you tell me a little bit about the MPH Program? I too am interested in Exotic/Wildlife Medicine and am curious as to the material you are learning and the career(s) you are thinking about pursuing.
Rebecca Russo
34:32
All other aspects of the application will now carry more weight. GPA, experience, essays, letters of evaluation.

to the panel: for those who are applying this year, interviews will be done on Zoom remotely, so they won't get the same interview day that you had. What can you tell them about the campus?
Shehani Gunawardena
01:02:03
Are there any scholarship opportunities that students can look into?
Kelly Tsun
01:02:59
Having visited the campus last summer, I can attest to the warm and welcoming environment! While I was there, I did not get a formal tour, but Im curious if the campus is centralized or would you need to drive from one facility to another?

This question is for Bill and Dr. Russo: I had a rocky start to my college career, and I worry that even the drastic improvements I’ve made to my GPA won’t be able to make up for those failures in my first year or so. (Bill), did you get any feedback on how your past academic history factored in? (Dr. Russo), how much does it take (academically) to make up for about 6-8 F’s earned in 2013-2014? Is this a common situation for applicants?
Rebecca Russo
01:06:23
scholarship opportunities: you should definitely apply for financial aid and be sure to meet the deadline they set. You'll be considered for school grants, low interest school loans and, of course, federal loans are available. Most of our grant money is need-based, and there are also some scholarships based on diversity. A high percentage of our students get some type of grant.

Are applicants automatically on mailing lists after selecting the program on VMCAS?
Rebecca Russo
01:10:12
rocky start: the admissions committee is focused on "has this applicant demonstrated that they can be successful in our curriculum?" They will focus on your more recent academic performance. Remember what Bill said that he was honest about his previous academics. Most important is to give the committee confidence that you have turned it around with your most recent work.
Rebecca Russo
01:11:23
mailing list: yes, if you indicate that you're open to receiving email from the schools, you'll be on our mailing list. Is that how you heard about this panel?
Zack Spodek
01:12:10
Rebecca: Yes, I heard over email. I just wanted clarify that was the mailing list that Ford had referred.
Rebecca Russo
01:13:03
Ford--is that the mailing list you mentioned?
Rebecca Russo
01:15:34
Good point, Ford! As a Tufts alum, you will be in the Tufts family.
Ford Barnet
01:19:55
Yes. If you got an email about this panel you are on our list and will hear about future opportunities like the WAZE symposium
