Has there been any work done exploring the feasibility of actually getting all countries to exist within the donut? In other words, do you think the ecological ceiling we are all bound to has the resources we need to meet all basic needs on a global scale?

We've been looking at district cooling system to improve efficiencies, encourage green development, and improve air quality. Allows for green space on the top of the buildings and we hope to create a green space on top of it. Really love this and helps to consider even more!

Wonderful, thank you, Kate. Is there documentation from the Portland and Philly Donut workshops? What was the reaction from these US mayors and elected officials? Did any low hanging fruit action ideas emerge? Lastly, are you familiar with EcoDistricts the organization based in Portland that @Julian serves as a Board member?
Perri Sheinbaum (she/her)

Many people, especially in the US, view growth as the measure for economic prosperity. As an economist, how are you able to speak with other economists to shift their thinking and be champions of donut economics? And should we be putting our energy in redefining economics?
Maxwell Dorman

How do we go about convincing decision-makers and the public alike, particularly those with nationalistic and growth-oriented mindsets, that these changes in policy and priorities are important and necessary?

Hi Kate, I work with Jennie Moore at the BCIT Centre for Ecocities (we launched after last year's Ecocity World Summit in Vancouver). I'm curious what the cities you're working with are finding is their biggest challenge in getting themselves toward a Doughnut vision.

Do you think we can achieve the goals of the doughnut economy without major social and historical disruption? How can we change the historic dynamics of power economics, colonialism, etc...?

Thank you, Kate!

Thank you Kate for your wisdom. Your thoughts on AI technology and how these technologies could support your model of development (based on the doughnut economic model). On that note, should we consider treating Data as labor or Data as Capital and the inclusion of a UBI / or data wage program?

This may be a bit vague, but is there a good first step as an individual involved in local government to encourage a city to move toward doughnut economics.
