JJ - Since you knew you wanted to do research, what motivated you to pursue a dual degree rather than only doing a PhD? What advantage do you feel the DVM gives you?
Serenity B.

Hi! My name is Serenity Beaumont. I am a rising senior, and I will actually be applying to Tufts undergraduate with the hope that I will transition to the Tufts Veterinary school. I am also a Veterinary Technician Assistant at a holistic clinic in Hopkinton! But my question is, for everyone on the panel, what major did you take in your undergraduate years that prepared you for veterinary school? Looking back, would you change your major?

I think Kelly touched on this, but when you want to pursue research and find a professor to do so. Is it more so working on their project or do they let you think of a project and run with an idea in their realm of expertise?
Zack Spodek

For those of you who completed research at your undergraduate institution, did you feel you were prepared to draft and publish manuscripts for research in the field of veterinary medicine once in veterinary school? If so, what tools and methods did you utilize at veterinary school to make the transition?
Megan Gulsby

How would you say your research experience has been? Maybe some challenges and what you guys have learned and how that is going to apply to your futures as Veterinarians? The good the bad and ugly about research!
Marissa Peck
44:49
How much prior experience did you have before applying to your research opportunities? Is it best to be more skilled in a lab, or with animal hands on experience, or something else?

so to clarify, the IVM program is not something we would apply to during the VMCAS process? you would apply after you get accepted to Tufts?
Victoria Perez
51:46
Could you apply to an MPH or PhD after entering Tufts?
