As a South Indian woman, i know first hand that south India is a deeply heteronormative, homophobic and misogynist place. So much so that queers are forced to perform heteronormativity for self-preservation in their everyday life. This is not a fun or joyous performance. How do you think these contradictory performances intersect in night clubs and other queer spaces?
