Congratulations, Kareem - and Anusha and Elliott! I’m sorry I could only join you for a short time today. Looking forward to more gatherings and conversations in the future.
thank you Kareem--this is a wonderful talk. I apologize but have to get on another call now.

Thank you so much Dr. Khubchandani! I'm heading out but this was such a beautiful space and I really enjoyed hearing folks work through their own readings of your book. As a linguistics scholar of drag, I'm just so inspired
Thank you for making this a public event. I really appreciate the generosity of this conversation and look forward to engaging further with Dr. Khubchandani’s brilliant work. Unfortunately, I have to sign off early.

Thanks to all presenters, and thank you Kareem for giving us such a beautiful example of transnational ethnography centering performance, queerness, and brown desire <3
Congratulations, Kareem. Exciting work—and thanks to CHAT for this event. Just got your book and look forward to reading it!
As a South Indian woman, i know first hand that south India is a deeply heteronormative, homophobic and misogynist place. So much so that queers are forced to perform heteronormativity for self-preservation in their everyday life. This is not a fun or joyous performance. How do you think these contradictory performances intersect in night clubs and other queer spaces?
that’s a wonderful response. Thanks, Kareem!
