Most ambulatory clinics are not designed for pandemic precautions. The reality is not going to be as optimal as we would all like it to be, and as was suggested here. Are there plans to monitor potential outbreaks in outpatient settings?
Linda Kaplan
When we see pts in the outpatient setting, they typically sit a foot or two from us as we take the history - most rooms are quite small and it is not possible for the pt to be six feet away. Has thought gone into plexiglass being installed in exam rooms between doc and pts while history taking, obviously not while doing the exam.

Following the same line of question as Dr. Kaplan in addition to surgical mask , goggles should we be wearing gloves and gowns in outpatient clinics. thank you
